Our Story
Gorilla Trail Expeditions was born out of a deep love for Africa’s wildlife, landscapes, and cultures. As passionate travelers and conservationists, we realized that the most meaningful safaris are those that not only bring travelers close to nature but also create lasting positive impact for local communities.
From humble beginnings as local guides in Uganda, we have grown into a trusted safari operator, specializing in gorilla trekking, primate adventures, and luxury safaris across Uganda and Rwanda. Our mission is to connect travelers from around the world to Africa’s most spectacular wilderness areas while ensuring that tourism directly supports conservation and local livelihoods. As a family enterprise that is destined for greater heights Mackos and his wife Ovian paved way for a new safari experience like no other.

Who We Are
We are a locally owned and operated safari company, with a team of highly skilled guides, drivers, and travel planners who know Uganda and Rwanda inside out because most of our guides and even the directors are born and bred in Kigezi region which is a border community blessed with speaking both the Ugandan languages and Kinyarwanda dialect making it smooth for our safaris and visitors in the two sister countries of Uganda and Rwanda. Our team members are not just employees—they are storytellers, conservation ambassadors, and passionate hosts who ensure your journey is safe, enriching, and unforgettable.
